"I just wanted to take a moment to thank Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home for going above and beyond to provide such wonderful service during one of the most difficult times our family has faced.
From the very beginning, we were treated like family. Jay Hudson, one of the owners, and Lisa Michael, Administrative Assistant, went out of their way to take care of every single detail for us. Jay worked with us to help us provide the best service for our Daddy at the best price, realizing the expenses we will be facing in the future. Jay sat down with us and went over everything from choosing the casket to the details of the service. He did not try to “up-sell” us on anything, but instead he pointed out the best prices and worked hard to lower anything he possibly could. He was patient and kind and he, himself, obtained the music for the viewing and pretty much anything else we couldn’t bare to handle during such a difficult time. Lisa sat down with us and helped us write the perfect obituary as a tribute to our beloved Daddy. She wrote and re-wrote it until it was exactly what we wanted. She made herself available after hours and on the weekends. She even personally delivered the death certificates to me knowing I had just had surgery. Melanie Fair, Administrative Assistant, put together the most professional and beautiful slideshow from the pictures we brought in of our sweet Daddy and played it with music during the viewing and again during the seating of the funeral. We received so many compliments on it. During the viewing, Larry Fair, Director’s Assistant, respectfully checked on our family throughout the two hours we were there and brought us bottled waters and Kleenex and gave us as much time as we needed for our Daddy’s friends and family to pay their respects. They displayed the flowers and the casket so beautifully and set up a special table for my Daddy’s pictures and albums to be displayed. Jay and Lisa took care of all of the military details in order to provide a wonderful military service at the graveside. Bill Hughes, Director’s Assistant, helped hand out the service folders and guide everyone through the service keeping things moving perfectly from beginning to end.
Having buried several family members over the past few years prior to this, I didn’t think our Daddy’s service could possibly be as beautiful as the services that another funeral home here in Wise County had provided for all of our prior family members’ funerals, but I was wrong.
