Obituary of Donnie Cowley
Services for Donnie Gene Cowley, 66, of Bridgeport, Texas will be 10:00 am, Friday, June 21, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Chico, Texas, officiated by Bro. Tom Merritt. Burial will follow in Crafton Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday, June 20 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Donnie passed away Friday, June 14 in a traffic accident in Park Springs, Texas.
Donnie was born in Bowie, Texas to George L. Cowley and Vera Racheal (Defore). He attended school in Chico. He worked for Cocanougher Feed in Decatur for several years and later helped his father on the farm.
He was a devout Christian. He loved reading and watching westerns, and because of his love for food and spending time in the kitchen, he soon considered himself to be quite the cook!
Donnie always wanted to be visiting cousins and neighbors. He was thoughtful and sometimes forgetful, unless it involved dates or history. That type of information could always be recalled accurately.
He is survived by his stepmother Jeanne Cowley, and many special cousins.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, brother LeeRoy Cowley, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
