Obituary of Nancy Gogniat
A memorial service for Nancy Lee Gogniat, 77, of Decatur, Texas will be 2:00 pm, Monday, November 18, 2019 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Decatur, officiated by Father Reehan Antony. Nancy passed away Sunday, November 3 in Decatur.
She was born July 24, 1942 in a hotel in Glassport, Pennsylvania to parents Leo and Evelyn (Roper) Nizinski.
Nancy worked as a writer/editor for Bureau of Standards, the National Institute of Science & Technology (NIST).
She loved to travel with her husband in one of his airplanes, or on the back of his motorcycle.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James ‘Jim’ Gogniat of Decatur; children James Robert Gogniat, John David Gogniat, and Leanne Carol Mate; grandchildren Kevin, Andrew, Timothy, Kaitlynn, Scott, John, Jr., Heather, and Lindsey; and numerous other family.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Tommy Nizinski.
