Obituary of Ginger Jean Alvey
A memorial service for Ginger Alvey, 72, of Springtown, Texas will be Monday, November 11, 2019 at 6:00 pm at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas, officiated by Pastor Bill Hughes. Ginger passed away Thursday, November 7 in Decatur.
She was born on January 8, 1947 in Bottineau, North Dakota to Olaf and Iris (Henke) Slotto. She was married to her husband Joe Alvey for 15 years.
Ginger loved landscaping. Her favorite flower was an iris. Ginger enjoyed visiting Colorado to see the mountains. She really loved her grandchildren. They were the loves of her life.
She left behind her husband Joe; daughters Francis Smith of Colorado, Patricia Hurtado and husband Matt of Bridgeport, Rebecca Horne and husband Chan Jr. of Springtown, Nancy Shelton of Bedford, Texas, Amy McKain and husband Paul of Euless, Texas; sons William Alvey and wife Michelle of Conover, North Carolina, Scott Alvey and wife Joan of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jeff Alvey of Blanchard, Oklahoma; aunt Lynn Michel and husband David; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Pashia Kohler, and son Joe Alvey III.
