Obituary of Domingo B. Martinez
Domingo Martinez, 66, of Chico, Texas passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 in Decatur, Texas. Close friends and family are invited to attend a private Rosary service Tuesday, February 11 at 10:00 am at St. Johns Catholic Church in Bridgeport, officiated by Father Reehan Antony. A public memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, also at the church. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Monday, February 10 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
He was born December 20, 1953 in Durango, Mexico to Cornelio and Ursula (Batres) Martinez.
Domingo worked for 41 years for Lehigh-Hanson in Chico until his retirement December 31, 2019.
His life was his family, and he felt blessed beyond measure to have such a wonderful wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He always told his family that they were his riches.
He was a kid at heart and loved to spend time playing with all the family.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Mary (Molina) Martinez of Chico; sons Domingo Martinez, Jr., and wife Marie of Decatur, Joe Martinez and wife Mikki of Decatur, and Chris Martinez and wife Alessandra of Bridgeport; daughters Amanda McClure of husband Benton of Decatur, and Criselda Martinez-Hopkins and husband Milton of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; father Cornelio Martinez of Van Horn, Texas; and numerous other family.
Domingo was preceded in death by his mother Ursula Martinez.
