Obituary of Mary Maxwell

A memorial service for Mary Dalphine Maxwell, 89, of Bridgeport, Texas will be 5:00 pm Friday, May 22, 2020 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by Pastor Glenn Waldon. Mary passed away Monday, May 18 in Bridgeport.

 

She was born in Van Zandt County, Texas on December 2, 1930 to Buster Lee and Trudie Belma (Thornton) Kenyon.

 

Mary moved to Bridgeport in 1975 and worked as a dispatcher for the City of Bridgeport for 13 years. She married Glen Dale Maxwell October 3, 1987 in Bridgeport. The couple were married for 32 years before his death a little more than a month before hers, April 9, 2020.

 

Mary loved life, and her family unconditionally. She never met a stranger, and welcomed everyone with open arms. She spent years fostering children and adored each and every one of them as her own. In later years, she gained her proudest title of Grandma and then Great Grandma.

 

She leaves behind daughters Georgie Thompson of San Antonio, Texas, Malynda Weiland and husband Jeff of Weatherford, Texas, and Glenda (Maxwell) O’Brien and husband Kevin of Burleson, Texas,; sons Mike O’Dea and wife Deannie of Bridgeport, and Neil Maxwell and wife Norma of Weatherford; brothers Clyde Kenyon and wife Donna of Bridgeport, Elvy Kenyon of Azle, and Roland Kenyon of Kansas City, Missouri; sisters Judy Hale and husband Leslie of Decatur, Texas, Polly Minnick and husband Junior of Pampa, Texas, and Hazel Hooker of Bridgeport; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Glen Maxwell; son George O’Dea, parents Buster and Trudie Kenyon, brothers Ray Kenyon, Richard Kenyon, and Bobby Kenyon and wife Peggy; sisters Earlene Moore of Azle, Texas, and Jane Mathews of Wichita Falls, Texas.
