Obituary of Lucille Coursey
Services for Lucille Coursey, 87, of Bridgeport, Texas will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by Pastor Joey Vick. Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery in Bridgeport. Pallbearers are Darrell Johnson, Justin Norris, Joshua Newton, Lee Newton, Brian Newton and Randy Chambers. For those unable to attend, live-streaming will be available on the Hudson & Torres Facebook page beginning at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 27. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday, June 26 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Lucille passed away Tuesday, June 23 at home.
Lucille was born February 13, 1933 in Greenwood, Texas to C.M. Cash, Sr. and wife Mary Matilda (Barnett) Cash. She married Joe Lee Coursey June 29, 1956.
She and Joe Lee were active members of Cuba Baptist Church for many years, and Lucille, with her harmonious alto voice, was a strong member of the church choir.
In her earlier days she was an excellent seamstress and was often busy making clothes or crafts.
She worked at various places of business during her lifetime, from retail sales, as a nanny to lots of kiddos, and even as a telephone switchboard operator.
Lucille leaves behind daughter Jolene Coursey Spicer and husband Phil of Ennis, Texas; sisters Matilda Carter of Bridgeport and Cleola Green of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Nathan Spicer, Aaron Spicer, Daniel Coursey, Stacey Jo Munoz of Bridgeport, Justin Norris, and Micha Miller; great-grandchildren Maylee Spicer, April Coursey, Janet Coursey, Danielle Coursey, Little David Coursey, Tabby Munoz, and Melina Munoz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe Lee Coursey, son David Coursey, and five siblings.
