Obituary of Elmer Lee Maddux
Graveside services for Elmer Lee Maddux, 70, of Springtown, Texas will be 10:00 am Tuesday, July 21, 2020 in Jim Ned Cemetery at Runaway Bay, Texas, officiated by Pastor Bill Hughes. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday, July 20 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Elmer passed away Thursday, July 16 at home.
He was born January 24, 1950 in Dalhart, Texas to Denver Elmer and Hazel Fay (Loper) Maddux. Before becoming disabled, Elmer spent his career as a ‘junkyard dog’ (mechanic).
Elmer was a lover of America and John Wayne.
He is survived by daughter Elizabeth Haire and husband Randy of Sunset, Texas; sisters Rhonda Maddux of Springtown, Lissa Lambert of Decatur, Texas, and Donna Maddux of Springtown; grandchildren Randy Haire II, Blake Haire, and Dustin Haire, all of Sunset; his closest running buddies Lonnie and James Norris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, brother James ‘Jake’ Maddux, and sister Amanda Poland.
