Obituary of Norman Corbell

Visitation for Norman Eugene Corbell, 73, of Abilene, Texas, formerly of Decatur, Texas will be 1-2 pm, Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 pm at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Decatur. Norman passed away in an auto accident on September 3 in Mitchell County, Texas.

Norman was born February 5, 1947 in El Campo, Texas to Olen C. and Rosie Lee (Redding) Corbell.

Norman had a number of careers over the years, one of which was as a medical equipment tech.

As for hobbies, he was a guy that was always fixing things. An example of this was the television he had in his house. He found it in the trash and completely rebuilt it, and of course it worked perfectly.

Norman was a generous man, frequenting pawn shops all around, only to give away his purchased treasures.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Abilene. He was an avid evangelist and could often be seen handing out Christian tracts during his daily walks.

He is survived by his daughter Kelley Dominguez and husband Jesse of  Frisco, Texas, brothers Ronnie Corbell and wife Peggy of Decatur, and Daryl Bruce Corbell and wife Pam of Hewitt, Texas; step-brother Don Corbell and wife Julia of Shingle Springs, California; step-son Jeremy West of Austin, Texas; step-sister Grace Corbell of Decatur; and grandchildren Rio, Noah, Raine, Nick and Ash Dominguez.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, and step-brother Gale Corbell.
