Obituary of Eldon Russell Kaker

Eldon Russell Kaker, 84, of Bridgeport, went to be with the Lord on the morning of November 5, 2020 at Medical City Hospital in Denton, Texas.  Funeral service will be Monday, November 9, at 10:30 am at Grace Fellowship in Paradise officiated by Pastor B. J. Rutledge with burial to follow at Paradise Cemetery. Pallbearers are Matthew Hawkins, Christopher Kaker, Robert Shannon, Caleb Kaker, Nicolas Kaker, Gary Wayne Henson, and Kyle Nichols. Honorary pallbearers are Carl White, Eddie Huckabee, Billy Fred Walker, Carl Jones, Ray Rankin, Bill Kersey, Jim Kersey, and Glen Kersey.

He was born on September 8, 1936, in Dallas, Texas to Carl and Tressa Tackel Kaker.  He moved to the Wise County farm with his parents at the age of 6 years.

Eldon served his country in the USAF and after his service, he built many homes and businesses in Wise County as owner and operator of his own construction company.  He served Germania Insurance at the Kaker Agency for 30 years before retiring to the farm where he grew up, south of Bridgeport, raising cattle, sheep, goats, and hay. Eldon was an active member of Grace Fellowship Church in Paradise, Texas. 

He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Janis Kersey Kaker; daughter, Tressa Parsons & husband Bronc; sons, John Kaker & wife Lisa, Carl Kaker & wife Risa; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and loved ones.

Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter Eldona Margrum.
