Obituary of Billy Ray Hatcher
Services for Billy Ray Hatcher, 88, of Paradise, will be Wednesday, November 11, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Cottondale with burial to follow at Cottondale Cemetery. Pastor Charles Pugh will officiate. Visitation will be November 10, 6:00-8:00 pm at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Family requests that all attendees please wear a mask and observe social distancing at visitation and all services. Bill passed away on November 6.
Bill was born to Allison Walker Hatcher & Susie Mary Love Hatcher on September 9, 1932 in White Oak, Texas.
He married the love of his life, Helen Jo Lucko, on January 13, 1951 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a business owner and worked in sales for 55 years before retiring to care for his precious wife for 12 years, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. He continued to visit The Hills after her passing to visit, play piano, and entertain any way he could. He was a great dad, papa, and great papa. Bill loved his family dearly.
Left behind to cherish his memory are daughters, Paula Rosbrugh of Runaway Bay; Pam Caruthers of Cottondale; grandchildren, Brittney Cox & husband Clint of McKinney, Seth Rosbrugh & wife Dana of Waxahachie, Shane Caruthers & wife April of Lake Worth, Justin Caruthers & wife Laura of Cottondale; brothers, James Hatcher & wife Elaine of Red Oak, Tom Hatcher of Arizona; sister in law, Bobbie Wooten; brothers in law; Jack Lucko & wife Jerri, Jimbo Lucko & wife Peggy, 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Helen Jo Hatcher; and son in law, Terry Caruthers.
