Obituary of Elizabeth Wilson

Funeral services for Elizabeth Pearline (Barber) Wilson, 80, of Paradise, Texas will be Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2:00 pm, at the First Baptist Church of Cottondale, Texas, officiated by Brother Charles Pugh.  Burial will follow at Cottondale Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Braden Wilson, Ethan Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Steven Wilson, Jr., John Boyle, and Marty Boyle.  Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday, December 3, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.  Elizabeth passed away Wednesday, November 25 in Decatur.

Elizabeth was born in Kensing, Texas to Alvie Lester and Cleo (McKinney) Barber on June 11, 1940.  She was reared in northwest Fort Worth and attended school in Lake Worth.

On June 11, 1958 Elizabeth married the love of her life, James Henry Wilson, and in August 1970, moved to Paradise where she remained until the time of her passing.

A devout member of the First Baptist Church in Cottondale, Elizabeth was a homemaker who fawned over her grandchildren, took exceptional care of the family, and enjoyed cooking, Christian music, and taking Bible classes.  She had just taken her last test on Monday, November 23, to end the third semester of Faith Bible Institute. 

Those still here to cherish her memory are son, Kelly Wilson of Paradise, Texas; grandsons Chris Wilson and wife, Shelby, Steven Wilson, and Heath Wilson and wife, Brittanie, all of Paradise; brother Harry Lester Barber and wife Patsy of Burleson; great-grandchildren Steven Wilson, Jr., Cheyenne McNeil, Ethan Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Mekenzie Wilson, Noah Wilson, Braden Wilson, Haleigh Wilson, and Berkley Wilson; great-great granddaughter Serenity Carter; great-great-grandson Chase Carter; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Edward Earl Barber and Charlie Marvin Barber, and great-grandson Shawn Carter.
