Alan was always a kind and helpful person. I worked with him briefly over the past year and gave his all to his work and his drivers. Alan had great stories and a wonderful smile. RIP my friend

I first met Alan at Wood Badge where I was honored to become his patrol leader. From that point we both developed a long friendship around our passion for Scouts and the Outdoors. For years he did some great work with Cub Scouts and Venturing and had his Venture Summer Camp program featured in Boys' Life. He founded Texas Outdoor Camping with Dennis Hamilton (who also passed) and returned after some years of absence with a newer fire and vision inspired by his father. I will miss our regular discussions and he was a true friend.

Alan was a good friend. He was my Boy Scout friend, my Bridgeport Band friend and all around running around buddy. Alan had a big heart and would do anything to help a friend or further Scouting. I will miss his laugh, and his giving nature. He was proud of his kids and Carolyn and bragged on them every time we talked. I pray that Alan, his dad and Mr. K are telling stories and singing silly songs around a campfire in Heaven.
