Nació el 15 de agosto de 1948 de Bibiano Martínez y Silvina González en Rancho Nuevo, México. Asunción trabajó muchos años en Acme Brick Company. Cuando no estaba trabajando, disfrutaba estar afuera en el patio. Le encantaba pasar tiempo con sus nietos y bisnietos. Pasó tiempo escuchando música y le encantaba bailar. Siempre estuvo feliz.
A Asunción le sobreviven su esposa, María R. Martínez; hijos, Blas Martínez, Agustín Martínez; hijas, Silvina Martinez, Nereida Martinez, Adriana Martinez; 13 nietos; 10 bisnietos y una gran cantidad de familiares y amigos.
Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres.
