Obituary of Doyle Lee Patterson
Funeral services for Doyle Lee Patterson, 86, of Paradise, will be Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home, officiated by Dale Webster. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Edwards, Danny Rowlett, George Woolsey, Cazen Woolsey, Josh Spivey, and Jody Thiebaud. Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 – 8:00 PM also at the funeral home. He passed away peacefully at home on March 18 surrounded by family.
Doyle was born to James Henry Patterson and Bertha Mae Patterson on October 12, 1934 in Mobeetie, Texas. He was a mechanic by trade, owning his own company, Patterson Auto Service, before selling to his son. Doyle was a jack of all trades and could pretty much do anything. Work was his hobby, he enjoyed many different jobs after his initial retirement. If you ever worked with him, you heard him say “a dollar waiting on a dime” or “if I can do it you can do it”. When he was not working, which was rarely, he enjoyed traveling.
He was survived by wife of 65 years, Kathryn ‘June’ Leewright Patterson; son, Rick Patterson & wife Debbie of Paradise; daughters, Pamela Patterson & husband Danny Rowlett of Paradise, Martha Carrillo & husband Michael of Decatur; sister, Virginia Mabry of Anadarko, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; 8 brothers; 3 sisters; daughter, Evelyn Patterson Edwards; and one grandchild, William Grant Edwards.
